Ulzii discovered her contortion abilities at the age of 4 and entered Mongolia’s National Circus School when she was 7 where she developed her contortion skills. At the age of 9, Ulzii was chosen to join the cast of the renowned Cirque du Soleil, where she performed in many Cirque du Soleil productions such as Alegria, Amaluna and Totem. After an exciting decade performing all around the world with Cirque Du Soleil in over 40 countries, Ulzii moved on to create her individual style and began working with other productions companies across the entertainment industry. No matter which new project Ulzii embarks on she always carefully crafts her creation expressing her unique style of performing.

Where are you from, and how did you first connect with Teatro Zinzanni?

I’m from Mongolia. The very first time I learned about ZinZanni was in Seattle 2016 when my husband (boyfriend at that time) was performing with ZinZanni. I saw the show, got to meet the cast and production and told myself “It would be wonderful if I ever get the opportunity to perform on this stage” and that moment is about to begin!

How long have you been performing? How did you get started?

I started performing worldwide when I was 11 years old. Cirque Du Soleil came to Mongolia for auditions and my partner and I were chosen because we were the youngest and the smallest when we were 9 years old. 

What are some of your favorite places in Chicago?

I love Maggie Daley Park to spend family time with my 2 boys. 

When you’re not performing, how do you like to spend your free time?

Family, my kids. I love spending time as a Mother. Playing, cooking and all the other fun and not so fun stuff. 

How do you think the Teatro ZinZanni show experience differs from other productions or shows you’ve been part of?

It’s much more intimate. I get to know the audience and the audience gets to know us, we build connections. The audiences are part of the show. 

If you had to describe your act in three words – what would they be?

Feminine, Beauty and Balance. 

What are you most excited about for this upcoming Zinzanni show?

Looking forward to heating up the tent in cold/windy Chicago with an outstanding cast and crew. I want to enjoy every performance and create a magical time for everyone 🙂
