What Is Teatro ZinZanni?

Teatro ZinZanni is part circus, part cabaret, and always magical. Described as “This city’s hottest ticket” by The New York Times, Teatro ZinZanni is an experience unlike anything else in Chicago. A whirlwind of international cirque, comedy, and cabaret artists, all served up with a scrumptious multi-course feast and elegant libations. Famous for its intimate setting, the fast-paced action of the show unfolds above, around, and even alongside you as you enjoy a delicious meal.

What time should I arrive?

We are located in downtown Chicago, so you never quite know what traffic you may encounter! We suggest you arrive early as we want you to have plenty of time to explore our gorgeous lobby with a distinguished bar ready to serve you delicious and inventive cocktails, wines, and bubbly.

Thursday-Saturday night shows begin at 7PM, Sunday night shows begin at 6PM, and the Saturday matinee begins at noon (12 PM). 

Doors open one hour before showtime, and pre-show entertainment begins approximately 30 minutes before showtime. 

Our lobby bar remains open for 30 minutes after the show.

The running time of the performance is approximately 2.5 hours.

Do I need to print out my tickets?

Teatro ZinZanni is a paperless venue. Patrons check in with our host by providing the last name on the reservation. If you have other guests joining you, please make sure they know the last name on the reservation (you’d be surprised how often they do not!)

Can I choose my own seats?

You may select your specific table if you are purchasing for the inner ring only. All other seating sections are assigned by our host prior to your arrival. You may request certain seating, and our hosting team will do their best to honor them. Please contact the Audience Services at  (312) 488-0900 or chicago-info@zinzanni.com before your show date with any special seating requests.

I have an accessibility need. Can you accommodate me?

Absolutely! If you are purchasing a ticket online, during the checkout process you will have an opportunity to make a note about any special accommodations you may require and our Audience Service team will make sure your visit to Teatro ZinZanni is smooth and enjoyable!

If you require ASL interpretation, we ask that you call us at least 2 weeks in advance. Assisted listening devices are available on-site, just ask to see the manager when you arrive.

Please note that the show does feature the use of strobes, hazers, and other stimuli. Our Front of House Manager will advise you on what and when these special effects take place during the show, so you can decide if you would like to briefly move outside the tent during those moments.

Are there stairs getting into the venue?

Our lobby, restrooms, and tent are all accessible, however there are two small steps to reach our outer ring seating. We recommend that guests with mobility concerns purchase in one of our other sections.

Can I bring my service dog with me into the theatre?

Of course! Contact Audience Services at (312) 488-0900 or chicago-info@zinzanni.com in advance to discuss any specific needs to ensure we accommodate you and your service dog.

Is Teatro ZinZanni appropriate for children?

There is no specific age requirement to attend the show; however, it is a 2 1/2 hour performance filled with sophisticated humor, sensuality, and innuendo. The performance has visual and audio parameters that might exceed those advised for infants. It is up to the discretion of the parent or guardian to determine if the show is appropriate for their children. Please note, there is no special ticket price or menu for children. 

Do all ticket types include food?

Yes! The multi-course meal is an integral part of the performance and incorporated into the show. Beverages and a selection of lovely appetizers are available for purchase.

Are there any discounts for seniors, students, or military?

Yes! We offer $10 off Outer Ring tickets to seniors, students, and government workers (military, teachers, etc…) for performances other than Saturday evenings and holidays. Discounts are not available in the month of December and for select holidays.

May I take photos during the show?

Yes, please do! You can take photos and videos of the show, but please do not shoot video of the entire performance.

Flash photography, as well as use of the flashlight on your phone, are strictly prohibited. Live streaming, such as a live video on Instagram, Facebook, or another platform, is also strictly prohibited.

We would love it if you tag us in your posts! Refer to our digital program to tag our fabulous performers and musicians as well!

What should I wear to the show?

Teatro ZinZanni is a night to get all glammed up and “dress to the nines!” The beauty and refinement of the building and every detail in it are the perfect backdrop for you to showcase the very best in your closet and make a glamorous entrance! We welcome moments of imagination, whimsy, or mystery to embellish your formal, black tie evening attire. Statement earrings or shoes? Sparkly tuxedo, jacket or tie?  A sequined handbag or elbow length gloves? An exquisite masquerade mask or an oversized boa? How about a fedora or a tiny top hat? Anything goes at Teatro ZinZanni!

Where should I park?

We’ve partnered with iParkIt to offer pre-paid parking options at the Theater District Self Park located at 181 North Dearborn. Pre-paid parking is available on their website for a discounted rate of $17.

If you wish to pay at the garage on the night of the show, we are able to validate parking down to $25 (ask guest services for a validation sticker). We do not have valet services.

Do you have a coat check?

Teatro ZinZanni offers complimentary coat check services. Coats, umbrellas, hats, etc., can be left for safekeeping for the duration of the show. Teatro ZinZanni uses a ticket system for tracking and safekeeping your possessions. Items placed with our coat check attendant will be waiting for you in the coat check area at the end of show. Please note that for the safety of the performers and the servers, we do not allow coats to be hung on the backs of chairs. The temperature in the tent is kept at a lovely 72 degrees, so leave that coat with us and show off your wonderful outfit!

What can I expect?

Prepare to be transported into another world where performers break free from the confines of the stage and the action unfolds all around you. No two performances are alike as the wall between artist and audience disappears. A few guests may be invited to participate, many will enjoy table-side interaction with artists, and everyone will share in being a part of a one-of-a-kind celebratory event creating a memorable evening for all.

Do you do anything special for birthdays or important occasions?

We welcome celebrations of all kinds! Just let us know what your special event is at checkout and we’ll be sure to make it a night to remember!

What is the seating arrangement?

Guests can choose their specific seat by purchasing in our Inner Ring seating section.

All seating sections feature communal seating and all sections other than Inner Ring are assigned by our hospitality team.

Center Ring contains tables that can seat anywhere from 2-10 guests.

Premium Perimeter contains tables that can sit a maximum of 4 guests.

Outer Ring is booth-style seating that can comfortably accommodate 6 guests at one booth.

Parties that have placed reservations separately but wish to be seated together must contact the Audience Services staff at  (312) 488-0900 or chicago-info@zinzanni.com 24 hours prior to performance and share the last names of all members of the party that have purchased tickets. Without this process your request for seating will not be accommodated.  

Since seating is assigned before doors open, if you arrive at check in and inform us at showtime, we most likely will not be able to rearrange your seats.

Can we bring a large group?

We love groups! Whatever the occasion, we are delighted to help you celebrate the moment with laughter and song, dinner and dreams.

How do I reserve the best seating?

To reserve the best seating, we’d encourage you to purchase in our Inner Ring seating section. These areas allow you to purchase a specific table as close to the action as you desire!

How many people at a table?

Our venue has tables of various sizes, with the largest seating 10 guests. For larger parties, all guests will be seated adjacent to one another as we unfortunately cannot add additional seats to existing tables. We can accommodate any size group within the capacity of the venue, however smaller parties may be seated at communal tables with other guests.

Do you accommodate dietary restrictions?

Yes! We do our best to meet dietary restrictions within the constraints of a set menu. At checkout you will be prompted for any dietary requirements and the information is stored directly in the reservation. If you have any specific questions regarding your dietary needs Audience Services would be happy to assist you. You can reach them at  (312) 488-0900 or chicago-info@zinzanni.com.

Our menu includes vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options.

What is your policy regarding gratuities?

Gratuity for your beverage service or food add-ons are greatly appreciated.

For parties of six or more, beverage purchases will be presented on one check with a 20% gratuity included.

What beverages are available?

A vast selection of specialty cocktails, spirits, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase either at the bar or at your table.

Teatro ZinZanni’s next-level cocktail and spirits menu features ingredients made in-house using seasonal fruits, herbs, and unique spices. Our cocktails draw inspiration from the show and focus on flavor combinations, as well as balance and finish, to create an authentic and memorable cocktail experience. Our spirits list features a wide range of mid to high end liquors.

Can I cancel or change my reservation?

All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued. Guests may exchange their tickets to another date up to 24 hours prior to their performance for a fee of $10 per ticket. Tickets exchanged on the day of show will be subject to a $40 per ticket fee.

What is Teatro ZinZanni’s inclement weather policy?

Teatro ZinZanni performances will be canceled only if driving conditions are deemed perilous by the Illinois Department of Transportation. If a performance is canceled, Teatro ZinZanni will make every effort to contact all ticket holders by email no later than noon of the scheduled day.

If you are unable to attend a performance due to inclement weather and Teatro ZinZanni has not canceled the performance, you may notify Audience Services at  (312) 488-0900 or chicago-info@zinzanni.com  in advance of your current reservation and exchange your ticket for another available performance. Please note that we will not be able to exchange your tickets after your reservation has passed.

What happens if a performance is canceled?

If Teatro ZinZanni cancels a performance, ticket exchanges will be offered. Exchanges will be granted for the closest amount of your original reservation, rounding down when an exact match is not available.

Discounts cannot be applied to a previously-completed purchase. 

We allow cancellations for parties under 10 up until 72 hours prior to a scheduled performance for a fee of $40 per ticket. Those who would like to retain their reservation can move their order to an alternative date for $10 per ticket. 

We do not tender refunds within 72 hours of a scheduled performance, however we would be happy to reschedule reservations for an alternative date for a fee of $40 per ticket.
